Ranger clutch

Anyone or know anyone that knows how to bleed out the clutch on a 1994 2.3l 5spd Ranger. It suppsedly needs some reverse bleed system on this POS clutch?

We managed to cobble something together to get the system to work, though the pedal is weak and not near as hard as it was before we broke the system.

You mean something that draws fluid from the slave cylinder into the master?

I personally have no idea, apparently all the ranger guys we knew says they all take their rangers to someone else when the clutch needs bled because its a terrible job to do it.

unforantly most the people they knew have all moved on.

I know there is a system like that for bleeding brakes.

I've heard of other clutch systems being gravity bled. Is that an option on the Ranger?

non of my Hydraulic clutches for the Trans Am's I have owned have been that way...this was a first for us, we couldn't figure out why it wouldn't bleed like it should and stiffen up, couple of google searchs and we found forum after forum bitching about it...most of them say to buy a reverse clutch bleed tool..which is like 60-180 dollars. Other said just take it to someone who knows how to do it. Apparently thats not most ford dealerships either from the complaints.

ask autozone/oreilly's etc if they have one for rental, also the regular tool rental place.

oreilly's by me has a mityvac clutch bleeder tool for $49.99, they apparently do not rent them.

yeah we already tried the auto stores...you think catron is going to fork out 50 bucks? Lol You know him

apparently the clutch lost some pressure yesterday, rather than make a effort not to do anything worse to the truck. Catron just HAD to drive it today (you know civil war came out) and couldn't be bothered to wake up at 7am so he could use the buick...which was to much work. He's just going to hope nothing happens till next friday.

The internet saves the day

My buddy went to a ranger forum and a very nice guy gave him step by step instructions on how to bleed the clutch...which did involve removing almost all its components and doing a bench bleed.

anyways its working good again!!!!!!!!!
