Rolled through a stop sign...

Postby silentassassin185 » March 19th, 2013, 2:42 pm

..and got caught. I went to give the officer my insurance and it was for the wrong car. Anyone dealt with the before? Can I just take the current insurance card in and get this dropped or am I going to have to go to court?

If you show them the insurance card, usually they will just drop it and go on. Assuming you are paying for the roll through. You might actually get the clerk to take care of it all. Doesn't hurt to call them.

I roll stop signs on a regular basis, a select few I don't even stop for.. making 3 dollars less an hour while driving does that to you lol. Plus it saves some gas lol. And yea I've given them the wrong insurance before but I didn't get a ticket, just said woops, sorry, and gave them the right one.

Proof of insurance snaffus can be corrected by showing valid proof at the courthouse. How much is the stop sign ticket?

Everytime I've been pulled over I always have my expired insurance card with me! Lol just take them a current and they will drop the ticket.

Not sure. He didn't ticket me for that. I think if I would have had the right insurance card I would have gotten off with a warning but he said something about no proof of insurance means he has to write me a ticket. Instead he got me for no seat belt and no insurance. Guess I'll try to get a work a little early and make it up to the courthouse before they close.

I got pulled over in Augusta driving my friend's grandpas car. He just got a new card an beer out it in the car. Only difference here is he told me he sent th a copy but never did. So I came home from AIT and bought a car to fid out my license was suspended. So I had to send them a copy of his insurance card and $50 to get it reinstated.
