Bad TPS sensor?

Postby squeak » August 29th, 2013, 9:21 am

So I removed the n2o kit last night. As I started it up to check to make sure it all worked correctly, it idled funny. I touched the tps sensor connector (by chance) and it killed the car immediately. So I started the car back up, idled fine but has a slight audible miss at idle (as well as part throttle). After messing with the sensor and testing it (has smooth operation and shows correct voltage), I plugged it back in as tight as possible and most of the issues went away. I'm going to pack it with electrical grease as I think its just a loose connection. I've never had one just kill a car like that.

I figured I need to get this figured out before the power adder gets put back on... That would be a recipe for disaster lol.

Any other thoughts other than try to put electrical grease to promote the connection or just replace the 40 dollar sensor (pricey lil bugger)???

you might check the wires going into the tps connector. maybe those started to pull out.

I looked at that and they all appear to be "seated" correctly in the plugs.

Where the hell did you find one for $40?! Every time I looked for one it was like $70.
