5.0 Issues

Postby Torquemonster » October 6th, 2015, 11:38 am

So I recently purchased a 2013 Mustang gt, and it's been giving me some problems. Was hoping someone on here might have an idea.
1. On cold start, the car will start and idle for a few seconds, the RPMs will then start dropping and the car will sound like it wants to die. In that time, it also has an odd, slow knock. These issues sort themselves out if I leave it running, or shut it off and start it again a few seconds later. A friend said it could be a timing issue, but I'm not too sure.

2. Since last night, whenever the car shifts into 2nd gear, it loses power. This is done at "cruising speeds" as I'm now afraid to to go WOT. I can't really tell if it's something in the motor or if it's a tranny issue.

The car has a little less than 19k miles. It's an auto with a circle D 3c stall, full exhaust,52lb injectors, and it's been dyno tuned.

Why does it have 52 lb injectors? Is it tuned for E85?

Not throwing any codes. And yes, it has an e85 tune on my sct. I'm currently running the "stock" tune.

How are you running the stock tune with those injectors? That in itself would make it run bad. Are you running e85 now?

Im running 91 in it currently. No e85 stations near me. So you think those injectors are hurting the car if im not running e85?

Yes unless your "stock" tune is programmed for those injectors. The injector pulse is going to be different for stock injectors. Find somebody with stock coyote injectors to put on it with the stock tune. Basically the mods you have are useless with the stock tune on it. If you can't find injectors find somebody local that can get you a second tune specifically for pump gas and those injectors.

I have 2 different 91 octane tunes. 1 from Auto Adrenaline and 1 from lsxkillr. The injectors were on already on it when it was tuned.

Those injectors are WAAYYYY too much. I would be very worried about someone having a blower or n20 on the car, hurting it, removing and selling (That is unless you are the original owner).

Pull codes and report back.

Does the car run better on those tunes? Or are those what you are considering "stock"?
